Welcome to the new world order and the introduction of Corporate censorship.
Essentially it means that any website that hosts copyrighted content in any form be it a .gif an image or anything that the original owner feels is stealing their intellectual property. Can be handed an order which means that the website must remove that content or face being shut-down or DNS blocked.
This means that picture of Harry potter or a .gif or Supernatural or even a song that you upload could essentially mean the closing of Tumblr or the deletion of your account. This is essentially CENSORING you and your page.
This doesn’t just effect Tumblr, i used it as an example, but would effect all websites that hosts or has hosted user generated content. e.g;
Youtube
Photobucket
DeviantArt
to name but a few. Now I don’t normally get activist up in here but this shit is going too far.
Anyway if you are in the USA you can write/call/email your congressman, which is the only way to get your voice heard.
